Social Samvad/Jamshedpur: Gopeshwar Lal Das Memorial Inter Union Volleyball Tournament was inaugurated today (19.12.2022) at the Tata Motors Volleyball Court, TML Sports Complex. In the Union category, around 9 teams from Tata Group companies, namely (Tata Motors Workers Union-A, Tata Motors Workers Union-B, Tata Steel Red, Tata Steel Blue, Tata Power Workers Union, Golmuri Tinplate Workers Union, JUSCO Shramik Union, T.S.P.D.I. L Employees Union, and Tisco Majdur Union (TGS) participated in the event.
The first match of the day was played between Tisco Majdur Union and Tata Workers Union (blue). Tisco Majdur Union players gave a tough fight, but finally Tata Workers Union (Blue) emerged victorious by two straight sets of 25–05 and 25-05 in the best of three sets.
The second match of the day was played between Golmuri Tinplate Workers Union and Tata Steel Red. Tata Steel Red emerged victorious in two straight sets of 25–08 & 25-04.
Mr Deepak Kumar, General Manager (ER, CSR and Skill Development), Tata Motors, was the chief guest for the opening ceremony.
